Welcome to the II Workshop for Reuse Introduction in Companies (WIRE).  This is the right place to discuss the practice and the future of reuse in Brazil and the world.

In times of pressure for high productivity and quality, not to mention cost reductions, the software development field is being currently challenged by customer and user requirements, increasing the demand for competence in the software development cycle. Reuse can be viewed as a systematic approach for software development, and WIRE 2007 brings together industry demands and academy research,, in the attempt of bridging the current gap between these sectors.

WIRE 2007 will be a workshop about the practical aspects related to software reuse in projects with industrial trait. Advances in the state-of-the-art that reflect in practical experiences involving technical, managerial and organizational aspects are expected in order to stimulate the exchange of experiences, opinions and, mainly, debates. Reuse, in the workshop context, encompasses areas related to reuse processes based on mass production techniques, such as, for example, processes involving product lines, and aspects related to the challenges of introducing reuse in companies.

WIRE is a pioneer event in Brazil for disseminating and discussing matters regarding reuse and its related aspects, with the potential to deeply change the current and future practice of software engineering.

Besides all technological aspects surrounding the workshop, the event will be held at Porto de Galinhas, a true paradise with beautiful sunny beaches, exquisite cuisine, handcrafts art and the warmth of the people from Pernambuco. It will be a great pleasure to meet you in WIRE 2007.
